Icon2 85 CRX Si 1.5 & tranny into an 88 Civic SE?

I had an '85 CRX Si w/1.5 and 5spd manual. Had to junk it because of frame rot. Kept engine and trans. Just picked up an '88 Civic SE from a family member because I had to junk a KIA (go figure). I know I can drop the 1.5 in, as it's the same engine. The question is, is there a major difference if I drop in the CRX trans so it's a whole unit? What are the trans differences (both 5spd manual, 1.5L)?

Best Regards,

Marc

They are not even close to the same. Different engine mount locations and the tranny shape is not the same either. Just because they are both 1.5's doesn't mean anything, wrong generations. Try the 88-91 Civic forums.
