Yes. The block casting number is unique and is recorded in conjunction with VIN by Honda/ Acura. I'm not sure exactly how to go about requesting the information from The manufacturer, but I know it's an easy identification number for the police to obtain. The block casting number also appears on the window sticker (if you're lucky enough to have it.)
When the police got my stolen motor back, it was identified by the block casting number that I provided to them. They had to verify it was the correct block casting and they were able to get the information faster than I could email them a picture of my window sticker. Good luck.

the reason im asking is i bought a B18C5 bare block with no vin attached and i dont want to build it then its taken away due to theft.
What i do know is the guy i bought it from bought it off of a honda Street garage shop you know a local honda tuner/build shop and they admit they owned it but never know if they chop shopped it or not. When i went and asked the shop owner where it came from he said he didnt remember..

So by me calling honda i can provide them the block casting number and get info ?

Why don't you take the casing number to a police station and ask them to check on the status of the block saying that you "are" about to purchase it.
