Default what cat back and piping should I use with a jdm header

Here is my deal I'm sure it's been answered before but I'm going to ask anyways.. What pipe do I need to bolt right up to the 4-1 header ? Test pipe ,b pipe and axel back..I have a 2000 type r and I want to put a jdm
4-1 header on it which I do have already .. The motor is stock and am planing on doing some minor stuff but not a whole lot I would say mainly bolt ons .. I was looking at a slunk 2 mega power r set up but I'm not sure what size I would need to get ?or if I should even go that route

If your using the JDM ITR Header just use any catback and get an adjustable test pipe.

Keep in mind that without a cat the car will have a terrible raspy farting sound. Unless you're after the stereotypical ricer **** exhaust sound then you'll be all set.

I would suggest to put an additional resonator where the cat should be. I'm not sure if JDM itrs had 1 or 2 o2 sensors but you're usdm itr will have 2 o2 sensors, so there is that to think about also. Unless driving with a check engine light doesn't bother you, but that type of thing would drive me insane.

Lastly, I'm not sure if you are aware or not but the stock itr muffler is a great muffler and flows great. The oem parts on the type r are all really good and most ppl like to change parts for performance gains which I totally understand but that same philosophy doesnt really work when trying to upgrade parts on an itr, the oem parts are so well thought out that the "upgrades" ppl get actually hurt performance as opposed to increasing performance.

I read that you want to go OEM JDM which would be a great choice i would go complete jdm from header to muffler, but I personally wouldn't go with a skunk2 I think an OEM JDm exhaust would be a better fit your itr, and if you are after some bling get an aftermarket axleback.

Either way it's your car but I just thought I'd add some insight

Best of luck with your exhaust choice!

apex ws2 or the greddy sp elite are my two top choices for a bolt on modded type r. I have the elite and i love it. They both have chambered mufflers so sound is deep and not too loud, but definitely at the borderline for me. Maybe I'm too old for loud exhausts. Anything else usually has a straight thru muffler which is gonna be too loud in my opinion. unless thats what your looking for. As for the stock exhaust, I really don't like the bottle necks in it. There are a few spots where the exhaust chokes down to about 2". This is for North American spec exhausts, not too sure about JDM versions though. The Apex and greddy are only a little bigger in diameter, but are true mandrel bent exhausts with no bottlenecks anywhere. They will definitely out flow a stock setup.
