Default 4th gen question about Mirimoto Mini HIDs

Do any of you have HIDS retrofitted in your 4th gens using Mirimoto Mini projectors? And if so, did u have to do any cutting? I'm going to be using my knockoff black 1pc headlights that have 9006 oem bulb mounts.

Thanks for any experience anybody has. I read a few people with Accords that also use 9006 didn't need to do any cutting so I'm hoping its the same?

I used one of the previous generation Mini D2S projector in mine, but mine are the Stanley JDM lights, with an H4 base.

I did have to trim to make the base sit straight, and to clear the bottom of the projector on either side. Also I trimmed the front black shroud to fit around the shrouds I picked out. Smaller shrouds may have worked better than the oval ones I got, but I am happy with how mine came out.

There are a couple pics of mine somewhere, I think in the official retrofit club thread in the lighting sub-forum.

Cool thanks for the info. One problem I'd have with using my black knockoffs is they aren't adjustable like the jdm ones. Id rather do the reteofit myself cuz half the fun is doing the work but I'm gonna check out this guys setup. With cash in hand in case.

Doesn't come with ballasts though he does have a custom drl setup running off nokya yellows. Any experience with Volt ballasts?

The guy did a real good job on the retrofits with the Morimoto Minis so I bought them. $200 and now I have a set of black 1pc knockoffs to sell so I think I came out ahead. Little bummed I didn't get to retrofit them myself but it's a pretty good deal there

The lights look decent, I think they were worth 200 even without the retrofits done. Good score!

Yeah I know right? Each headlight is missing one mounting tab, but no biggie. They are 100% clear, not the least bit faded. I kinda want to get some kind of Lamin-x or guard for them cuz we all know headlights don't last

I'm hoping to have 'em in by Monday. The ballasts and relay arrived so just gotta find time to drop the whole setup in. Although I was hoping to maybe open them up and clear out the reflectors behind the projector, or pull a wall behind them so it'd look even cleaner, I opted not to. It's all pretty well sealed as is. I'll post up a pic when they're in.

Here is what mine look like, covered the reflector with a flat aluminum piece covered in c/f look vinyl.

Damn that looks boss. What shrouds are those? Or homemade?

It only takes an hour to remove the lights if I decide to change em up a little. Right now I just want them in lol. Tonight

I think it was the E46 or something, and obviously oval instead of round. I sort of want a smaller shroud, so if I ever order more stuff I may get some and swap them out, the hard work is all done.

Idk I think those shrouds look dope. You have a link to a build thread or more pics of the front of your car?

Got my retrofits installed yesterday. I love the sheer light output of the 4300k Philips bulbs but the color of the 5000k Morimotos. Can't decide haha.

I do want to do 3000k fogs. Are the OEM prelude fogs a halogen projector, or is it just a circular reflector lense? I had a set a long time ago but never thought about it. I may just go with e36 reflector lenses if the OEM prelude ones are pretty much equal. Yknow just point em down and hope they don't glare all over lol.
Anyhow..Here's some pics. Sadly my dremel stopped working so I couldn't cut the sidemarker hole on my replacement fender so I'll have to live with the dent a little longer. Haha. I didn't snap a pic of the cutoff but it's what you'd expect from a set of Minis. Perfect. Just gotta adjust the aiming upwards slightly. Hoping my relay comes tomorrow so I can hook up the DRLs.
