I have a 2006 Honda Accord and was trying to change my rear passenger brake pads by myself. Took off wheel, caliper, old brake pads. Put on new brake pads and then tried to screw in caliper piston.

It was extremely difficult to turn the piston at all and screw driver and crowbar kept slipping. I managed to get it most of the way in, but it won't budge and still needs to go in another 1/16th - 1/8th of an inch. I purchased that cube tool and the caliper piston started stripping that thing.

I did most of the compression without opening the bleeder at all, but i did open it a bit once i got stuck to no avail.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

 

If the caliper piston is seized, replace the caliper. You should place both calipers due to the age of the vehicle. It's important to service the brake fluid every two or three years.
