What the hell is a brand new old stock European Accord engine?

At least give the block code, year, or something useful.

"new old stock" Meaning it's a brand new 0 mile engine, original Honda engine, but discontinued (obviously). Hence it being 'new' but also 'old stock'.

And it'd be a F22B5 according to his thread title.

Ahh missed that code- thanks. I will start looking it up. Is this engine the short block or long block? How complete? Flex plate or flywheel installed.

From what I have found, that is a 2.2 liter 16 valve sohc non-vtec with 149bhp.

there are two pictures with identification markings... one has the model: F22B5.. plus: 0400041 below the model #number, an: HA cast in the block just above the model #number.. and then another number cast into the block near the oil pan way below the model ID that says "USA POA-20".. new block, oil pan, oil pump, water pump, timing gears, (no) timing belt,(no) harmonic balancer wheel, (no) plastic covers, (no) cylinder head, metal tube from back of the water pump... it looks like mine just that "B5" thingy that indicates to me it is for European consumption. if I could put my cylinder head on it.. and a new timing belt.. it would just about be "plug and play"... "thanks to all weighing in"

Short block is similar to all other B2-B6 variants. Only difference with B1 is the port for the VTEC oil flow is not sealed off. B2-B6 don't use it, so it's sealed off.

It's not really a B5 since it has no cylinder head. The real distinction is in the cylinder heads/camshafts/valves. Block doesn't have it, so it doesn't matter. Short block is just bore and stroke.

thanks mike, I am mostly about practicality.. I bought it cheap(97 accord) with the intention of parting it out for my "son inlaws" car(94 accord) which had thrown a timing belt. I have now had it two years and about 25,000 miles and needless to say I didn't part it out.. it's been a good work car. I pulled the automatic transmission myself and had it rebuilt when I first got it two years ago when I first got it and it's been a good beater ever since...
