Accord 1993 Fuel problems
I just got an Accord EX 1993 and I'm having some issues. First, the gas gauge doesn't go down after I turn my car off. At first I thought it's not moving at all, but after some extensive driving it does move towards the empty but stays there when I shut it off. Then the car just stopped running on the highway. Like it ran out off gas and the tank is full. After 2 minutes it starts normally. Sometimes when I stop at the grocery it won't start, like it has no gas and then after a minute or two it just starts like nothing happened. Could it be a gas pump, or filter, or relay? I apologize if there is an existing thread, I'm new at all of this and this is my first car so I would really appreciate all the assistance you, more capable guys than me, can provide. Thank you.

Best thing to do is get a fuel pressure tester for $20 at Harbor Freight. Hook it up and see if fuel pressure is dropping off.
You can hook it up and lay the hood on it with the gauge facing you in the car so you can watch it.
This assumes that the car is cranking when its not starting of course.
If its not cranking then obviously the issue isnt related to fuel pressure.

The fuel pressure tester from harbor freight does not have the correct adapter for Hondas, FIY (at least the one I have didn't but I bought it a few years ago). But a fuel pressure gauge that has a banjo syle fitting that will connect at either the filter or the rail works perfectly and is inexpensive as well.
I believe mine is a B&M or a BWR can't remember. It was cheap tho, like 15 or 20. Search ebay for honda fuel pressure gauge.Once ur done using it you can remove it, but it's the least expensive route for testing fuel pressure on these cars, as the cheap fuel pressure tester kits do not come with the correct adapter for these cars.

The $20 Harbor Freight fuel pressure kit absolutely has the correct fitting.
Ive used it numerous times.
Hey guys. Thanks for all your help. I actually replaced the oil filter and that seems to have fixed the problem, or at least it looks like that. What I've also noticed is an rpm fluctuation in idle. Do you have an idea what that might be? I know that there's probably a thread about that, and I'll do my best to research it. My apologies for posting similar threads. Thank you again

A clogged oil filter will never cause your car to die AND not have extensive damage which prevents it from starting again so your underlying issue is still there.
When it happens again, take some of the advice in this thread.

I wrote the wrong thing. I replaced the fuel filter, not the oil filter. I believe I'll have to drive it more in order to see if it still happens. Thank you guys for all your help, you're awesome.
