Hello All,
For sale is my beloved 1989 Honda Civic DX 'Flatback'. I've owned this car since February of 2013. I purchased it from the original owners, an older couple who METICULOUSLY maintained this vehicle. It was no more than a garage-kept grocery-getter from the time they drove it off the lot until I purchased it in 2013. I have not been able to find any evidence of any type of accident happening to this car. You'll have a hard time finding an '89 Civic in this great of condition. Odometer currently reads ~170k.
I did my best to continue the work of maintaining this fine piece of machinery, and I would say I did a good job. Below is some general information about the car. The modifications that I have done are as follows:
- Megan Street Series Coilovers
- DIY front lip
- Yakima Roof Rack
- Kenwood Head-unit and Speakers
The interior of this car is in immaculate condition, and you'll see by the pictures. There are only two imperfections worth noting that I have pointed out in the pictures below: a cigarette burn in the rear seat (I am a non-smoker, how that got there is beyond me and angers me), and a small tear in the passenger-rear door-card (if you're any good with super glue this could be fixed and virtually unnoticeable). All electronics work in the cabin. It's a DX model, so it has all crank windows, manual locks--all of which fully operate.
The exterior is in great condition. There are a few small dings and some paint chips from highway driving. Pictured is what I think is the worst ding on the back passenger side quarter panel. All the weather-stripping is intact and not rotted. As mentioned above, the car has never been in an accident, the body is perfectly straight.
The car is mechanically in great shape. Motor runs great and refuses to burn oil. The pan has a small leak around the drain plug. The clutch is showing it's age--it's drivable but will need replacing in the near future. Doesn't grind any gears. I will add that the car came without air conditioning from the factory.
Asking price is $3500. I work a lot and have an extremely busy schedule, so please do not waste my time with low-ball offers, especially if we arrange to meet and show the car. I am willing to move a little on the price, but not much--I am in no rush to sell. You can contact me via PM, or text me for a faster response: (215) 962-8826. Located in Santa Barbara, CA.
Thanks for looking!

Very Clean. Its too bad honda had their heads up their asses in the 80s with color schemes. Who wants to go with poo brown carpet and a milk chocolate dash? And they all vote yes.

Ha! It could be worse. I like a the brown when you compare it to some of the other poor color choices of the times.
