ABS pump and modulator install
Hey guys, I recently replaced my ABS pump and modulator on my 93 accord. And one my power steering doesn't seem to work anymore? I bleed the brakes all four in correct order. Is there anything else I need to do to active them? They are used so how do I test them to make sure they work? Thanks
I have replaced the ABS pump modulator and accumulator and would like to test it and activate it or pressurize it or whatever. Plus, since I have replaced the ABS my power steering has not worked just wondering if that was the cause
On the 90-97 cars there is a bleeder valve.
Install a long enough hose to a container and open the bleeder. There will be pressurized brake fluid that will come out, do not do this without a hose, otherwise you will spray brake fluid everywhere.
Refill the ABS reservoir, there is a black or grey plug with a warning tab on it, remove the plug, and underneath will be a 'filter'. You can remove this filter for easier refilling of the ABS reservoir.
Start the engine and the ABS pump will activate and self prime/bleed the system.
Turn the engine off. Check the ABS reservoir fluid levels refill, and bleed until there are no more air bubbles and the fluid coming out is as clear as the new fluid you are putting in.
To test the ABS, find an empty area or road. Drive up to speed and then slam on the brakes. You should feel the ABS kick in and the wheels will not lock up.
