225/45/17's on 17x9 Wheels?
as the title says, im going to be gettin new wheels soon, as 3 of mine are dented. i was looking at the xxr 527's and i really like the look of them. i know they are cheap wheels but i only daily drive my car, nothing serious, so i dont really care. now that brings the question. i really like the look of the 17x9 wheel versus the 17x8, but i just got new 225/45/17 tires. does anyone have experience with this fitment? i understand it will stretch a bit and i might have to adujust camber/ fenders, which i dont mind. but i wanted to know if anyone personally has experience with this. i looked online but most of the answers i got were hearsay and mixed.
edit: also, im not lowered in anyway. so i dont know if it makes a difference at stock height

Depends on which tire it is.
With BFGs in 225/45 R17 we have...
BFG G-Force Sport Comps have a 8.8" tread width which would be nice on a 9" wheel.
BFG G-Force Rivals have a 8.5" tread width.
BFG G-Force Super Sports have an 8" tread width.
No idea how your mystery tire would fit.

Well look up those two tires on a site such as Tire Rack and see what dimensions are given
Ideally a tire tread should not be more than +- 1" of the rim width.
As for offset and actually wheel fitment you will have to find out what other owners are using. Check the 'appearance' section with folks using stretched tires and the like.

What I am think is that on my 94 at least, on the rear wheels, the inside of the rim comes very close to the trailing arm and the knuckle. That is with an 8" rim and a +45 offest. I don't think a 9" rim would clear. Also, that is with a 215/45/17 tire. With a 225/45/17 tire I have to go to a +40 offset. But, again, his is a later model and the rear suspension is totally different. So maybe?
