Fenders Won't Roll. Help/Advice?
I have only seen one other post talking about my issue. I tried rolling my fenders with a wooden bat and a heat gun (yes I know, not the way to go) and the lip would only come up slightly. It would not actually roll up to become parallel with the body.
So I got to looking and there is what appears to be another "lip" on top of the one you roll that may be welded in there. And that metal peice is covered by some rubber coating that I scraped off to see it all. Does everyone have this and I just didn't do it right? Or is my car just stupid? It could have also been the bat, which I won't use again, but before renting a fender roller, I was wondering if my fenders will even roll.
I have watched many YouTube videos on it, and everyone else's fenders seem to roll with ease where as I was applying some force and they would barely roll. If someone has rolled theirs and has had this concoction in their fender, let me know so I can know for sure that my fenders will be able to roll normally.

Getting it to roll completely flat will be impossible, as the inner wells are layered on both the outer skin, as well as on the topside of the seam. So, when you roll them, you're actually pinching 4 layers of metal, paint, and sealant.
At first, I rolled mine as flat as I could. Then, later on, I cut the seam and welded the panels together. Even further down the road, I cut out the quarter panel enough to get the clearance needed, and fabricated wide quarter panels.
Thanks guys, guess that means I am not the only one with that.
Toyo, how far could you roll yours? I know he said only 45 degrees^^
Oh and I've seen one person with some fender flares, I follow him on instagram. Can't think of his name

I rolled mine flat, but the thickness of the metal was almost 1/4" when rolled.
