Hi my name is Axel and i have a 93 civic auto which was converted to manual i bought the car as a shell already converted and put an ls swap in it. Recently i been having an issue that the car turns on whenever it wants sometimes i get in and it starts on the first try other times i can be cranking it for 2-3 mins before it even starts. The starter is brand new, i have also swapped the main relay and ecu from a another working car. When i jump the starter with the key in the on position the car starts right up no problem. I have checked the voltage at the power wire to the starter it reads 12+ volts and the signal wire reads 12+ Volts as well when i try to start it. But the starter fuse #18 only reads 6-8 volts. I have changed the fuse and checked all other fuses and no luck. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

 

This^ suggests a cranks but won't start problem, but later info seem to suggest a no crank problem. Which is it? Or both?

 

its pretty much both sometimes the car starts no problem then other times it doesnt crank i can hear the starter solenoid engage but not the starter motor the starter is brand new and has been tested.

 

try replacing the ignition switch.
If it starts every time you jump the starter then the ignition switch is bad
