2001 civic lx 4-door went to punch gas and everything kind of died.
Sorry if an answer has been posted for this before, I tried searching extensively but couldn't find anything that sounded the same as my situation.
2001 LX 4-door 196,xxx miles.
All fluids ok.
Was going up free-way ramp and punched the gas and everything kind of went dead on me. Power-steering went out, but I was able to coast to the shoulder and turned everything off and opened up hood.
(Had a similar situation with a BMW and it was the serpentine belt, so I figured it would be something similar, but when I popped the hood and checked the belts they were all intact and ok.)
So, after a bit of confusion I decide to get back in car and see if it will start up. It does, and everything seems fine, so I begin to make my way back home, but the acceleration is gone when I press the gas. The car goes, but very slow and subdued.
I didn't floor it or anything, was very light on it because it felt off.
Fellow civic owner and previous owner of my car think it's the spark-plug(s). They're a relatively cheap replace, so I'll probably be doing that today either way.
I'm afraid it might be the fuel pump. That's strictly from trying to research online though, and not from any experience or expertise.
Was hoping someone had some insight on the matter, I'm pretty broke and can't afford to take it in anywhere, just going to have to try and fix it myself with some tools from friends and the good ol' internet.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

See if it's throwing any codes and post the specific codes. Pretty much any auto parts store in the land will read your codes for free.
Pics of the old spark plugs may help too.
