2000 Honda Civic SI -- only makes the creaking noise while braking (usually 15 mph or LESS). Didn't happen (or rare) when cold out. Seems to do it more now that it is getting warm. I thought it might be my pads/rotors because they were nearing time to replace, but after replacing pads/rotors, checking slide pins (and greasing), and checking all bolts/caliper/pistons it is still doing it. It does not make the creaking noise when braking while backing up. Shocks seem to function ok, springs are not cracked (also, does not make a noise when hitting bumps, or if i push down repeatedly on the front end). The ball joints don't appear to have play, and the tie rod also seems ok.
The upper/lower control arms, stabilizer linkages, and sway bar bushings (both sides) were replaced a year ago, and appear to be ok.
Thoughts I have been entertaining are bad bearing, or possibly a strange presentation of bad cv joint??

that is my number one suspicion right now. unfortunately it is raining today (i don't have a garage and am in the baltimore area so my access to tools is limited to pretty basic repairs), so it will have to wait until tomorrow or sunday. the brakes are performing well, and everything else seems fine, so I wouldn't consider it an emergency (haha famous last words). thanks for the responses.
