I would like to start off by saying that I know nothing about cars. I have a 94 Honda Civix DX Hatchback that I bought in 2012. My car has sat unused for about a year. I am having issues with my car stereo. I have tried 2 stereos, and neither work, leading me to guess it is the car itself that is the issue. Let me go over the info I have.
1.) About 5-6 months ago, I had a Dual car stereo, a amp, and subs in the car. The stereo worked fine. I took out the stereo, amp, and subs, cause I sold them to a friend.
2.) The last time I used the stereo I sent to my friend, everything worked fine. After I sent the car stereo to my friend, I went to replace the stereo with 1 of 2 car stereos I had lying around. It didn't work. The stereo would not power up. So I tried the other, and it too did not work, leading me to believe the issues is with the car itself. The stereos in question are a Kenwood KDC-MP232, that was in the car when I bought it. The other was a Pioneer DEH-P3100UB. Both of these stereos have been in my car in the past, and worked fine.
3.) I have tried 2 different wiring harnesses. I have tested continuity of the wires of both harnesses using a multimeter. I checked that the fuse was ok in the car's fuse box. It tested ok. I also tried a spare that was in the fuse box.
After all this, I still cannot get either stereo to power on. Any suggestions?
