Hello all, I have noticed recently that my radio controls are intermittently turning on and off periodically. I'm thinking it could be a fuse. #14 7.5A is what I'm gathering by reading forums here. Maybe something is loose. Thoughts??

 

It never goes out completely. It turns back on eventually. Maybe a loose fuse?

 

Funny thing is this happened to my hot/cold temp **** only... started a few days ago. I haven't had time to even troubleshoot it but hopefully someone can shed some light for you and save me some time too lol

 

bahaha lol my mechanic says the radio is going. Pffft ya right. Its either a bulb or a fuse. I'll check the fuse later today.

 

This winter in Ontario was bad. It started after the freezing cold temps of -20 and below. Maybe it will get better in the warmer weather. Who knows.

 

Mine started a week or so ago... don't know if the cold could really be the case but you never know.

I highly doubt it's the radio going haha

 

I know right lol What a joker... I'd like to get some input from this community but yes, I will start with checking the proper fuse. I'm not a car buff, so I'll do what I can before taking it in.

 

I just read on another civic forum site that they are prone to this. Either replace the expensive bulb on the main circuit board or buy a new radio for cheaper... ughh great.

 

How expensive is the bulb... I need to double check that.

Apparently its the whole radio unit. Its a motherboard of some sort. I have no clue. I need to dig a bit more.

IIRC, radio lights are SMD LEDs (non-replacable) and HVAC are bulbs. (I know this from replacing the lights to white, go to 8thcivic)
