Default B18C Innovative billet hydro mounts and hood wont close properly

I have a b18c-r with billet innovative mounts and the hood wont close properly, its sitting tight ontop of the motor, the pass side is flush with the fender, but the drivers side is 4-5mm above the fender. They state no hood cutting, so im unsure of why this is happening. I cut the webbing by the front drivers corner of the valve cover and it didnt help, it almost seems like its hitting in the middle and laying completely on the motor.

And hasport mounts dont fit the stock hood with a b18c either............

Does anyone have experience shimming the motor mounts down to clear the hood?

My friend in his b20v rubs the valve cover on the hood at the top left corner. Just some slight fitment issues

our mount kit was designed around the b16a which is a tad bit shorter than b18b/c and b20

with that being said every 88-91 is different in terms of fitment. ive seen some that fit b18 and b20 fine and some that dont. some that fit b16 fine and some that dont

you have to remember these cars are 25 years old now. which is older than most people driving them

I have been fighting this too. My b18c won't fit and the part of the hood with zero webbing is hitting too. I just had to raise the rear of the hood looks bad.

My hood is all dented from its years of abuse before me, i have a new one on order. im going to cut the webbing out over top of the valve cover on my old one and see what that does. if that still dosnt work Im going to add some washers under the drivers and passenger mounts to drop the motor 1/8 - 1/4 inch.

I had the same problem w/ Hasport mounts throwing my GSR w/cable trans into my EF. I bought some streetRays spacers and it closes now. There is still some contact on driver side because the hood is up more on that side but the latch works and Im planning on working on it after all the turbo work is done. You can see in the pic that the hood is pinching on the passenger side. Not a fan of the spacers but its functional and i didn't cut any webbing. Its a cheap certifit hood and Im trying to avoid as many outward dents as possible.

Why not just get the slightly raised hood you can find from VIS, or do a 1990+ jdm or edm front end conversion. It will give the extra clearance, plus look really good!!

here is a good example, minus missing the corner len's

If you are going to paint that, first make sure it is enough clearance. Mine cleared, but when reved you could see it was touching.
