Default d17 manual transmission compatibility

hi. just wondering if all the d17 transmissions are interchangeable d17a1, d17a2, d17a, d17a6, d17a7. im pretty sure they are swappable but i just want to double check. 5spd. the transmission is from a d17a2 and will be going into a d17a1

The D17A2 tranny has slightly longer gears than the D17A1 but, will mate up just fine.

So I have a d17a2 with a 5speed manual tranny and my tranny is making some funny noises at low rpm and I was already thinking about swapping it with a k20. My question is will the k20 tranny work with my d17 till I swap it with the k20?

Nope. K-series engines are reverse rotation compared to a D17, and they also sit on the opposite side of the engine bay.

You're limited to 7th gen. Civic chassis transmissions only. Management for a B18 transmission isn't out there for the D17 drivetrain.
