Whats up Honda Tech my name is Andy and this is my 1992 Honda Civic CX Hatchback.
At first it was all stock
But I quickly pulled the jammer and was planning to do a K swap
In doing that I had realized that when I got the car painted I should of just pulled the motor and done the bay too and it started to bother me so I decided to try to work on the engine bay before I proceeded with the swap.
Then I got busy with work and school and life and the car just sat for a few months. Within this past couple months I really wanted to get back on track and work on the car so I contemplated the K swap or just doing a nice B turbo. I then started thinking about possibly doing a Right Hand conversion and kinda gained interest. But when I started looking for a clip none of my local importers had any (HMotorsOnline and JDMCarBoy and JSHMotors) so I was actually planning to scrap the idea and go back to the drawing board. But then I posted a picture on Instagram asking if anyone knew of a shop selling one and one of my friends told me about this new spot in Ontario CA called JDM of California. I called and luckily they had just gotten a EG4 Clip. I asked for pictures and this is what they sent me.
I asked them if it was cool if I came to see it in person and they said cool so I drove down there that day. These were the pics I took.
The main guy there, David, was a pretty cool dude and gave me a good deal on just the conversion, no front end or swap. I bought it that day. They took a week to pull the motor and I went back 1 week from that day to pick it up.
I drove it home and unloaded it !
Heres a pic of my brother and my dog making out lol
So anyways, this is how my car sat the day I got the clip
I got linked up with a guy through my friend Santiago whos name was Jeff. Santi was showing me his work and told me not to take my car to any one else. After meeting Jeff and seeing what he does and how he does it and how he has a passion for it I decided I wanted him to do the Conversion for me.
In the mean time I decided I was gonna need a swap for the car and actually got a great deal on a 95 civic with a B20v that one of my cousins built. Considering I knew everything about the motor and the price of the car was just unbeatable I bought it in an instant. Heres a few pictures of it.
So after talking with Jeff we decided to do the full 9 yards and do the Rhd Conversion, a full wire tuck ( tuck battery and fuse box as well ) , shave the bay, brake line tuck, and paint the bay the same color white as the car with a red flake added to it. I quickly loaded up the car and the clip to take to his house where he does all of the work.
I got to meet Ricky and Greg who are Jeffs partners. By that night they slowly started drilling out the spot welds on the inside of the car and had already stripped the clip bare and had the firewall from the clip out already!
He is also simultaneously working on a RHD conversion for a CRX. The next day we got the front windshield out. Heres a pic of the CRX's bay freshly painted.
And now we are to yesterday. I went and picked up the paint and the flake and while I was gone the firewall finally came out.
So this is where ill leave off for the night. Hopefully within like 2 or 3 days from now the new firewall will be in and we will be able to start the body work on the bay.
So we havent got any work done since Friday but we plan to start going hard again wednesday. Ill just really quick share a few pics of all my cars at the house right now.
Thanks guys
Today we finally got the new firewall ready to be welded in and ended up being 99% done with the crx he was working. Here's some pics. Alot more to come within the next few days.
never unstood why people convert to rhd. To spend all that money just so you can drive your car from the right side of the car? Plus, idc what any one says its sketchy. I personally would have spent all that money on parts that actually have a purpose and improve the car. Only way i'd have rhd is if it was a real rhd car, not converted. well good luck with the build
Man still nothing has been done but the firewall being completely put in. Life sometimes.... Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do on the outside of the car? Im definetely gonna get some sir headlights with the corners and city lights. Any other ideas? Wheel change maybe I actually like the look of 949s... Interior change up? Cage is gone
no need to 'change it up' on the outside, but mind your panel gaps and that alone will improve the look of the car. i HATE ill fitting body panels, it's like a blind person assembled the car. and then ppl post it online seeking approval, when in reality the car is a disaster zone.

I know what you mean I've been meaning to get on that.
