Hey everyone so I went off the road with my 97 Del sol (if it really matters B18C5 / 5 spd). Both airbags deployed. The radiator support got pushed in at the bottom and the rear bumper got ripped off coming off the road.

I have been told by A few people that the sensors are Single use, and that as soon as they deploy are never going to work again.

I have also been told that I can replace the Control unit and drivers airbag with the steering wheel and that the sensors should still work. But I would either have to replace the dash to retain the passenger airbag or just put in a delete tray.

Which would be the case?

I'm just trying to figure out what I can do in terms of repairs. Or if I'm just going to buy a new sol soon.

 

Sensors are 99.9 % of the time are one time use and the air bags can be replaced control unit should be ok .

 

Ok then. Are the sensors replaceable and where are they? I'm going to need a new radiator support/front bumper for sure already. They in there by chance? Any on the rear I should worry about since I caught and pulled the rear bumper?

Hey there, yes, the bags can be replaced, but...(and i say this from personal experience) you MAY find that the mounting points for the passenger airbag fractured upon deployment. If they have, you will need to repair them. I spent a week fixing what otherwise would have been a 1 hour part swap.
