f23a1 swap for a f23a4
I tired to find this answer reading the post before I made a duplicate. I would assume this post has been answer before.
Transmission went out its a f23a1 the only one in my price range i can find is a f23a4. Are they compatible? Also is there anything i need to be aware of.

A4 is a ULEV combination with a different PCM. If you want to keep that whopping extra 2HP the A1 has, you would have to swap out everything related to the A1 from PCM to catalyst to retain the A1.
IMO, if there is nothing wrong with the A4 leave it be. No benefit to swapping an A4 for an A1 for that 2HP difference.

Let me rephrase my question.
My transmission went out in my 2002 Honda Accord. It was the f23a1, every one i've priced was around 1000. I found a totaled out 2002 honda accord but it has the f23a4 in it. It got tbone the front end is fine and I can buy the whole car for 700 bucks.
Was going to pull the transmission put in mine and scrap the car for around 250. Unless I part some of the other parts out.
My other thought was to pull the transmission and motor. However I know my motor is in really good shape and I hate to do the extra work if I don't have too.

Look at the sticker on the transmission.
Should be a barcode sticker on the transmissions, check to see they are the same. Most likely the gear ratios are the same but if the other Accord trans came from a Prelude it may have lower gear ratios.
