97 Civic si EJ9/D14A4 - Need help with distributor
I tried getting a Service Manual for this but it seems there are none available for my freak engine.
1) I found a minor oil spill inside the dizzy. Must the whole thing be replaced or is this a minor issue? I can upload pictures.
2) Can I install a distributor from another engine (i.e. D16Y7) on this engine (my engine is D14A4). It would be easier to find and easier to deal with.

This how to is for the Honda Accord dizzy but I'm sure it's very similiar to the civic and will demonstrate how to get to your internal oil seal for replacement:
https://honda-tech.com/honda-accord-...-leak-2214402/
Re-looking at your pics, the first pic clearly shows the internal seal you have to replace, you've already gotten down to where the seal is at, just have to pull it and then the real challenge begins, finding a replacement seal. Replace that seal in your first picture and your internal oil leak of the dizzy will be fixed.
The other challenge looks to be how to get the seal out and new one in as your shaft is still there with some sort of head. You have to be able to get that head piece off that shaft at the very least if you want hope of getting the old seal out and new one in.
Quite likely you have a bitch pin on the other side that holds the two prong head that goes into the cam shaft end. Get that out, the two prong slides off and then you can slide the shaft out the internal side and have full access to the seal. Might also be a c-clip on the cam shaft side of the dizzy. Keep an eye out just in case. I haven't pulled one apart yet so not sure but know if the shaft still ain't moving without the bitch pin and two prong head, there is likely more keeping it together.
Good luck.

Thank you.
That from wikipedia?
Many thanks!
Managed to get the "head" off.
The next shaft and the ball bearing are stuck together.
Unscrewing the mounting screws above/below the bearing gives the Bearing/shaft a bit of play but it doesn't come all the way off.
I had hoped I didn't need to remove the entire dizzy, not too experienced with ignition timing, but oh well.

The second picture in the link I provided shows the cam shaft side disassembled.
Unfortunately, you will need to remove the dizzy.
One trick is to scratch a groove across both the top bolt flange on the dizzy and the head with a nail or sharp screw. That way when you put it back on, you can line up that scratch line and it will be in the same time it was before removal.
Interestingly enough, in your picture, that looks more like a sealed bearing than an oil seal....
The dizzy designs look to be different. The seal is beyond that bearing. Just not sure how you get to it on your dizzy. I suspect dizzy removal is required but then again it might reside right behind that bearing. Your dizzy doesn't seem to have the same removable plate the accord dizzy does.
