Honda Pilot - is it better than other vehicles ? Why ?
If you have a newish Pilot, it would be cool to hear if, and why, people think they are good (or better) vehicles than other brands.
After almost 2-years of my Pilot, I am finally "getting over" some of the things that have bugged me so much. What do I like, and dislike ?
I'll be back to add more later ..

Weve only had our 04 since October of last year when it replaced the totaled 06 oddysey.
All the extra room in van was nice, but was rarely used. The pilot has similar space, but have rarely used the the 3rd row, so it it really feels to mee like a large, lifted accord.
I like the car like ride, dislike the suv mpg.
Driving in snow was simple, but again that will happen for me rarely, if ever.
After getting used to the maintenance minder system on 06 + models, its a little bit more of a nuisance on the 04 to remember service intervals.

We passed on the Pilot twice. Once in 2009 and again in 2014. In no way it was bad in any way. And went with the Odyssey both times. In 2009, it was close. In 2014, the Pilot seem dated and old, because it is. Car Tech are moving so fast that if your front collision camera isn't color, and can detect a red brake light vs a yellow turn signal, that's old school.
Anyhow, the only thing we could "knock" on the Pilot was a slight choppy ride in the 3rd row. Suspension turning has also evolved since 2009 when the 2nd gen Pilot was introduced.

i have an 03 pilot that replaced an 01 odyssey. I like the pilot ride height way better then the odyssey, makes me feel like my wife and kids are a lot safer. vehicle tech wise it is a bit dated but regardless i love it more then i ever cared for the odyssey. i will tell you this, i drove the Odyssey from Lake Elsinore California to Surprise Arizona, to and from without any issues.. only reason the odyssey was replaced was my garage caught on fire totaling the van. we were planning on getting another Odyssey but my wife no longer wanted to be Soccer Mom in a Van, She wanted to be Soccer Mom in Clean Silver Pilot that i plan on giving a mild suspension upgrade with exterior face lift. i will try to post pics once the process begins.
