Hello, I am Honda accord CD7 owner from Latvia (its in europe) and i need a help and my english is bad
Would like to know if is any steering gearbox without power steering pump?
In Latvians forum the men said that car is too large and there can be without power steering. But i wanna know from which Honda model will fit steering gearbox without steering pump.
I don't think any of the CD7's came with a manual rack and pinion (steering gearbox). Many have removed the factory PS pump and then "loop" the lines on the "rack".
Can you explain what you are trying to do or what is wrong and why you are needing a rack and pinion?
The "effort" to turn the wheels will be the same with or without changing the rack. Again, there are many people who have removed the PS pump (one reason or another) and just "looped" the lines on the rack.
There might be something in the FAQ about "power steering delete" - didn't look but as many times as it has been done....I will guess there is something about it.
CD7 or CD5 didn't have a manual rack. but i think maybe cb accord or some older prelude was.
Maybe i try to remove Amplifier strap and i see how hard to turn the wheels, if easy, then i can try your version if not, i need a manual rack..
Its because i wanna "clear engine room" (i dont know how its called )
And i think i dont need a power steering, only manual.
I know what you're saying/asking.
You are wanting to "shave" the engine bay. Shaving is the term used when you remove or hide components (battery, power steering, etc) in order to make it appear clear.
You can remove the power steering from the Accord. I drove mine around without the belt for awhile when I needed a different bracket (H22A motor swap).
If you want to completely remove it - "looping" the rack is the term you want to search for.
