Hi guys. I am going to buy Civic 6gen facelift 99-01. 3 door hatch.
I am looking for silver color and i see some differences in the internet.
For example wing mirrors and door handlers.
I will show you 2 picture to help you understand my question.
Can you tell me the differences? I am about to buy one on good price but the mirros and handlers are black. There is another car i liked but the price is higher (+500 euro) and the handlers+wings are silver as the car.
Both cars 1.4 90ps, clima, leather saloon and parktronics ( i think it is the highest equipment available).

 

Trim differences account for the different color windows, door handles and side moldings. I don't know of the EDM trims to give a solid answer.

 

"Lower" trims will have black plastic door handles and side mirrors. Generally only the top trim, and sometimes the "sporty" trim gets paint-matched handles and mirrors.

 

So i guess it is not a problem to paint them "aftermarket" or I am wrong?

 

1.4 is not the highest model available, by any means. Find out more about the motors in the two cars (ie., the engine code). Provided it is the original motor, the one with the better motor will be a higher trim level (generally). I suspect the car with the silver handles and mirrors is a higher trim. Unless the doors were replaced! (Unlikely.) What year are the two cars? This might matter too.

 

The car with silver things is November 2001 and the one with black details is October 1999.
2001 is with d14z2 and the one from 1999 is d14z1. Anyways i decided not to buy the older car because of many cosmetic problems that would cost me money to fix.
