Purchasing a high-mileage TSX?
Hows it going guys. I have the opportunity to purchase a 06' Acura TSX from a family member for $3000. It currently has 200k miles from driving long distances everyday to work. The car was purchased new by the owner. I will be check out the car in person this weekend and wanted to know what to look for at this mileage.
I know the car was never driven hard, but I do know that the car has been in a couple of small accidents. Nothing serious, the car doesn't have a salvage title.
The car has been sitting for about 3 months I would say since my family member has gotten a new car. Any tips would greatly help.

like anything else. Have a mechanic inspect it officially, find out if the owner had records of maintenance, etc. keep it professional as though you were dealing with a stranger, and you'll be fine.
Thats not a bad price for the miles. As long as you inspect it very well. I am on the market for one but people are really over pricing these cars for some reason. I guess its a supply and demand deal. I see many with over or close to 200k miles at $6000 and up around my area
I just a bought a 06 6MT two weeks ago for $5500. I had 180k on the clock. It's very solid, and like Shodan mentioned, take it to a mechanic to be inspected. I had the PO meet me at my friends shop where we put it on a lift to check the under side and suspension componets, hooked up a OBD2 scanner to check for any codes and ran the car thru some test. Like checking for clutch slip, any rattles etc.
These are GREAT cars and are very solid. For 3k I would jump on that in a heart beat.

$3000 is a steal. I've been looking for one here in Socal and even the beat up salvage title ones are going for $5500+. Take it to a dealership and pay the $130 for a full inspection
