Help Passing Smog Check
This morning i went to perform my CA Smog Check. Unfortunately my xar did not pass. The guy told me since the car had been sitting for a while at the body shop all i needed to do was get a temporary permit from the DMV and drive the car around to allow the junk that had built out to flow out. Can this be true? If so, has anyone done it and pass successfully the second try? IDK how many miles or how long i should drive. I only get one second try within 30days and if i fail it the second time my money will go to waste. Thanks in advance
Change your PCV valve, change the oil to a thicker grade, check/clean/replace the spark plugs, change your air filter. Completing these maintenance items will give you the best shot at passing it. Drive it hard before you go in for the test. This will help if it is a tailpipe test. If it is an OBDII code reading test get the codes fixed first.
