Lately I have been working on an Sidewinder manifold.
A lot of people say'd that the manifold will not be good for track use.
But...IMO the flow is better on this kind of design than in an regular top mount.

Please input your opinions.

 

As for the heat ''problems'' I will wrap the entire manifold / downpipe in DEI titanium wrap.
For the intercooler I will go with this type.

 

I personally have been using sidewinders for years - if it is set up right, people are full of ****. Most builds can't utilize the design if they don't have the space making it impractical. Unless I missed it, the only thing you really need to do (from experience) is support the turbo side. Eventually the weight will cause your manifold to crack. The best design is the articulating style like this:



They are made from rod or legit stuff like these fancy brackets here:



IF you don't want to get that fancy or don't have the room, you can make a thinner somewhat flimsy bracket (like 1/8" steel welded into a T ) to allow for thermal expansion. I have done this before as well without issues on a daily driver. Good luck!

 

So you are saying that my design is good....?

The length will not affect the performance?

I am asking this because, as I said before, a lot of people are telling me that it is too long and it will affect the spool up .

Tell those types of people to look at rear mounted turbo setups and to shut their commie mouths

I didn't say that haha... I personally lost 200 - 300 RPM on my setup coming from a log manifold. That's negligible in my opinion, but again - it depends on the setup. As far as your setup is concerned, it seems there are a couple unnecessary tight bends but a lot of that could have been fixed by using a tighter collector.
