Info:
00 ej8 5sp coupe.
I bought this car with NO history of it so i figure i should do maintenance while under my ownership.
127k miles about
I do have a edelbrock intake over stock. everything else is stock
Parts i changed:
new Gates wp/tb kit
New hg
SAME OLD NRG spark plug wires (fairly new so i figure its ok)
SAME spark plugs (only reason why i didnt change it is bc after the car is running correctly im IMMEDIATELY slapping on my turbo kit)
Problem:
Car turns Over (engine starts and is on) but dies (stalls/turn off) immediately after it turns over. I even tried giving some gas, Nothing changes
Gonna check the CEL codes tomorrow
last time i check timing is dead on Top side and bottom side. i will double check Timing tomorrow also just to make sure its 100% dead on again to eliminate that.
think i should buy new spark plugs to eliminate that too?
any other ideas to check for tomorrow people?
gonna do more googling and see other similar issues.
E:
quick question, i wanted to install my Golden Eagle fuel rail, but i noticed my STOCK y8 fuel pressure regulator looks like this picture below:

and my GE FPR mount style looks like picture (googled z6 Stock FPR and came up with the pic below) below:

notice the difference? the stock y8 fpr is kind of a triangle mount style where as the GE fuel rail has a mount style of a parallel FPR.
can anyone confirm that z6 stock FPR mounting looks like what i need to be (the second pic)

There's maintenance, and then there's overkill. Replacing a head gasket that didn't need replacing fits into the second category, and has probably introduced your problem. Buy/borrow/rent a compression tester, spark tester, and timing light, and use them. Tell us what your compression numbers are in all four, what color your spark is on all four, and make sure you have your ignition timing in spec.

Copy will get the compression ## for sure tomorrow
and gonna see of oreilly/autozone rents em out also. if not Harbor Freight that bitch lol (hopefully they rent em out, schools expensive lol)
No, you only replace a head gasket when it's failed, or when removing the head for overhaul.
The only thing in that list that you should have to buy is the spark tester, but that's all of $15-$20.

If you had low compression in cylinder 3 before than I think you should diagnose that first. Since you're going to turbo the car you should at least get arp head bolts.
