my accord needs a diet!
If anyone is interested in cb7 weight I have a 90' 4 door with an h22 standard transmission with complete interior, 17" tsw's and subs and my car weighs 3140 lbs with me (190lbs) in it.
Well, right off the bat...
-15" wheels. Quality pieces too.
-Get rid of the subs and just replace the door speakers with quality pieces
-If you have a sunroof and don't particularly care about it, a carbon fiber plug will save you 60lb.
Honestly, its a 4-door Accord. Its a midsize car and most of its weight is in its creature comforts. Sure you can strip it down but they were meant to be transport. They can be very sporty, even genuinely fast transport, but one has to understand what they are and what they are not. You car does not need a diet.
You would be better off buying some good quality coilovers, sway bars, some chassis braces, and fitting the widest tires possible in the front wheel wells. That will get you more handling rewards than weight reduction will.

I wasn't seriously saying it needed a diet, not complaining about the weight. If I wanted a lighter car I would have bought one, am certainly not going to strip the car it's my daily driver. Just simply stating what mine actually weighed on a scale not out of a book. Did have my tool box in the trunk so minus me and the tools the car weighs 2850lbs.
A diet would imply eating, which would imply a change in weight which does apply to car since weight is shifted with operation and there are also changes in weight such as fuel level changes, variations in number of occupants and items on board) Really we want our cars as light as possible but we need someone to chime in that has both physics knowledge and a reasonable level of common sense because this is a very interesting topic. How light could a car get? Is there some point where a car becomes undesirable in lightness? I just thought of the hood and aerodynamics.
