I'm sure this has been asked and answered before, but searched and couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for.

So IS there anyting that will remotely direct fit or swap? I really like the idea of having the auto controls but not if its going to require a bunch of other mods, only to then have to be stuck with the rhd surround layout and metric dials. So is there anything out there- UK lhd spec, Acura EL, Rovers, ...?

 

99-00 Civic is the closest you'll get for plug-n-play that isn't metric. Not full AUTO, obv. There is no LHD country that got full AUTO CC.

Acura EL isn't AUTO. Too bad, that would have been sweet.

 

**** I was afraid of that. I've always really wanted to add full auto climate functionality to my car so it would be able to preheat/precool/defrost along with my remote starter rather than having to remember to have to check the weather forecast and preset the controls the night before. Maybe I'll just get the jdm panel and live with it.

 

This begs the question: Do you often have to pre-cool one day, then pre-heat the next? E.g., when it's winter here, the dial/lever never changes from "hot as ******* possible", so hence the confusion.

 

Yeah I live in NC so it's not uncommon for it to be 70s-80s and sunny one day and 30s-40s and cloudy the next. Plus it gets really humid/foggy here fairly often so hence the need for the pre-defog sometimes as well. That's why I'd like auto functionality on not only the temp but blower speed and defog. It wouldn't be hard to do with a simple arduino set up as a control interface, but I wanted to see if there was any way to go with a more oem solution first
