If you're swapping, it's really simple. Unbolt it from where the shifter is. It's something like 2 10mm, and 2 12mm bolts, IIRC. Drop the transmission, and pull the linkage out with the transmission. Simple.

What year Corolla and what trim? I've done a few K20 swapped Corollas and since the K20 and K24 are pretty much the same, the swap process will be the same.
I make adapter plates for K24 to Toyota T50 if this is going into an AE86.
