Default what do I have to keep up with a TRANS AM

I don't know if this situation has ever happened to you. I just moved back to Las Vegas a year ago and met with with this racer from F-Body of las vegas. He's bragging about how his Firebird is so quick and challenges me to race him so him and his domestic buddies find us a spot to run. He beats my 2001 Integra LS with his stock 1998 firebird by two car lengths. And ever since I've never heard the end of it and how domestics are far more superior than imports so I replaced the LS with a GSR w/ cams/I/H/fuel rail/injectors. But now i just found out he recently acquired a Trans Am 5.7 L and 320 hp and a humbling ram air hood scoupe. If your from Vegas you might know who im talking about-his nick name is sinjez, and im out to get him.But how in the hell can I compete with this guy?

custom turbo kit, t3/60-1, rebuild the whole motor and bore it to 2 liters, get hondata and larger injectors, tune it on a dyno, clutchnet stage 4 clutch, quaife lsd, brigestone potenza s03 tires, spoon rims, thermal 3 inch exhaust.

all this and you will f*** him up

hope that helps

He only beat your LS by two car lengths? It must have been a V6......Anyways, it's gonna cost you a buttload of money to catch up to this infamous "Sinjez," LS-1 Trans Ams are some of the baddest cars out of the box. I'm not saying it's impossible to beat this guy, but im pretty sure the preceding advice is not the best.

turbo is definetly the way to go for most hp. its gonna take a lot of time and $$$ to beat a firebird though. if its really that important to u then u gotta be prepared to put a lot of work into it.

somewhat OT but that guy in the FBody is a dork.

That's like you going around and trash talking about being able to race a schoolbus and beat it in your Integra.

Firebird is a V6. Trans Am is a V8. Keeo in mind that he has a racing ego like you, so don't forget that he can mod his car also. Couple basic bolt ons on a LS1 will put him into the 12's easily.

I don't know who sinjez is but I'm from Vegas. I don't know if you go to the illegals but I went to one many months ago. I saw a new trans-am got SPANKED by a friggin Saturn sedan! All i heard that he did was use N20. And then later on a 3rd gen integ Spanked him at least twice. I knew more about him, it's a silver ls/vtec, stock internals. He was running low 14's at the track. And again, if you know your a better driver then sinjez, then that's half the battle!

Actually you can get a firebird with the V8...and for the nitrous only saturn sedan beating the trans am, thats just sad.

You obviously have never done any autox, otherwise, you wouldn't be asking

You just have to go and give it a try and you'll know what I mean. The Trans Am is not nimble enough to do well in autox.

Hmm I know a guy with a T/A race car up in Nashville and he kicks F***in' **** at SCCA autox events. It's a pretty bad@$$ car. That said, just do a turbo setup, and for everyone's sake keep it on the TRACK!

but IMHO this thread should get tha lizzock

*edit* this is the Trans-Am I speak of:

hmmm. How much did you pay for your LS and how much did he pay for his Firebird. I cant stand domestic owners who brag about beating imports. It just makes me wanna get a 10 sec honda and put them in their place.

tell him to race you from point a to point b totalling 20 miles...while each of you have only 1 gallon of gas in the tank. guess what, you will win.
