Hi everyone, does anyone know what size/part number bolts I should use for bolting the steering column holder bar to the car's chassis (red arrows in the picture)?

I had the bar off for a while for refinishing and now can't seem to figure it out, I may have lost them. I also can't seem to find the bolts on the parts catalog, which is frustrating.

Hmm. both our Sols have them welded to the support bar there. Maybe someone had to drill them out before you?

 

No, they're not welded to the chassis on the EG hatchbacks, they're bolted to it.

But the parts catalog doesn't show the bolts. Could they be the same as part #26, Bolt-washer 8x25? The support/holder bar is part #5.

 

Check the page with the steering column. Those bolts may be longer than 26 or 33, plus you need the self locking nuts that go with them (at least on mine) too..

But you could try 26 or 33 in the spot and go get some high strength bolts/nuts/ washers at a good hardware store. They need to be quality if it ever *knockwood* wrecks.
