Default 97 Civic lx with b16a2 with ECT problem.

Hey guys i just bought a 97 civic with a b16a2 and im having a ECT problem. When car is cold it has problems starting, i have to hold the gas to keep it running until the motor warms up. After the car is warm there is no issue. I did some reading and a lot of people were saying "bad ECT sensor" so i decided to change it out with a new one. Problem is still there. The person i bought the car from decided to take the cel out of the cluster (smh) Today i put a bulb in to check codes. Ecu is throwing 06 code which is ECT. So now im thinking its a wiring issue, I didnt do the swap and i dont think the guy i got the car from did the swap either. Is it possible to run the ECT sensor plug straight to the ecu? Its 2 wires green and black out of the plug on the sensor so 1 is a ground and a red and white wire on the D plug on the ECU. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check engine code? Did you check for continuity back to the ecu?

Also what ecu?

One goes to Sensor ground not chassis ground the other goes to the ecu

Ecu is throwing a 06 error code which is for the ECT. As far as I can follow the wiring there are no splits in the wiring. Connections at the sensor plug and ecu look good but idk about somewhere in between. Cars running off a 99 GSR ecu

Warm the engine up and then measure resistance across two terminals of the unplugged sensor. If it's fine, voltage and Ohm test the two wires.

Buy the correct ECU.
