I have a customer with a 96 Honda accord we replaced the stock vtech with another one out of a 93. My problem is I've timed it and retimed it again just to make sure but still won't start any ideas??????

 

93 accords didn't come with vtec

96 accords have unadjustable ignition timing...timing is controlled by the ecu

 

Correct, my guess is you are trying to use an improper ECU and it will not fire the engine you put in.

 

Did you change the ECU?

 

'96+ USDM cars have a crank sensor on the oil pump housing.
'95- USDM cars do not.

If nothing else was changed and you only put an F22A* into a car that originally had an F22B1 post 95, the car will never start.
