Icon2 Replacing cylinder head, what should I do first?

Hey! I posted a while back about some problems I was having with my 91 Honda Accord with a 2.2 liter. https://honda-tech.com/honda-accord-...start-3192153/

I ended up removing the head and taking it to a machine shop with the suspicion of a burnt valve or something of the sort. Come to find out the head itself was bad and needed to be replaced. So I ended up scoring a used one from a running car in good condition for fairly cheap.

So far I've transferred my camshaft assembly from the old head to the new one.

My question is what else should I do before installing the head to the block?
Do I need to adjust the valves at all?
Do I need to do something to make sure that timing isn't an issue?

These may be noob questions but I don't have any experience with an overhead cam engine. I usually deal with older Chevys and Jeeps with much simpler setups.

Thank you!

This sub forum is for engine management system tuning. This question would be better posted in the 90-02 Accord Forum. You would probably get more answers there or search through CB7Tuner.com for that matter. It is a forum that is 90-93 Accord specific. Lots of good information to be found there.

- valves can be checked/adjusted before or after the head is on the block... won't affect head installation. easier to rotate the camshaft gear with the head on the block and the timing belt installed though.
- Just make sure the No.1 cylinder is at TDC in the block and the "UP" on the camshaft gear is up on the head....

I think he said something spun inside of it and did something to the head. I don't quite remember.
