back in 2005 or maybe 2006, i had my car dyno tuned with a vafc2. nothing too crazy - cams, minor headwork, and bolt ons. sold the car like that in 2009 or 2010 and when i bought it back last year the guy i sold it to said he never messed with any of the settings in the vafc2 because he didnt want to screw up the tune. so, not thinking as i start my restoration, i realized that i have had the battery disconnected for about 8 months now.. did i just lose my tune or can it save those settings without being hooked up to a power source?
i know the vacf2 is older technology and they are better tuning methods, but i really dont want to go through tuning again. especially since the car has about 100K more miles on it now than it did when i had it tuned.

those internal systems from Apex'i may be old, but I doubt if you've lost any settings unless the person re-initialized again. I've had vafcs and Power FC s disconnected for years and the programs were still there.
I wouldn't sweat it. its there.
