what size tire should i get so i dont rub on fender
as the title says, i've been running 17" wheels on my 02 accord since i first got the car, i've always had low-pro tires (205/40R17). but as the tread is pretty much gone from my current ones, i've decided i want to go with bigger tires. but since this is the first time im doing this, i dont know how much bigger i can go without worrying about them rubbing on anything. anyone have any input on this?
Re: what size tire should i get so i dont rub on fender
205/40 is pretty low. I run 215/45 on a Gen 5. Those come out to be about the same diameter as the originals. I think the Gen 6 V6 had slightly larger tires than that. What I did was to buy some cheap used tires and try them before I laid out the money for good ones. Also, a LOT depends on the rims you have.

i dont remember what type they are, but i know they are Redline. i went to the shop today and they had some used 225/55r17 but i think they are too big, i dont know how to find out though that's what they look like

Most used tire shops around here will sell you a tire and mount if for $20. Pick a size, like the 225/45/17 and see how it does. You can take measurements from it and see what will and won't work. Also, there is a guy on the Wheel and Tire forum that can look at a rim and tell you what you have. He goes by toyomatt84. Try posting over there.
