nsx is hype. Get a civic and build it as you get the money.

Ok the nsx would ba a hell of a lot better than the civic, but your money could be better spent. I guess i could have put it better

You better start saving... the cheapest USED NSX i have ever seen was a 91 with 75,000 miles and it was 31,000 dollars (It was in this weeks autotrader)... and it had no mods, so just think about. I would honestly rather put that money in a car like a civic or integra (but that is just me )

First worry about school and landing a GOOD job when you get out.

A 25 year old with an NSX? I know for a fact that when I'm 25 I'll be driving a **** box.

An NSX is a super car and isn't for everyone.

Buy a cheaper Honda and have some good fun with it.

I know that its blasphemy here to speak out against honda, but im sorry the NSX is like the red headed step child of sports cars. Its faster than all practical cars but slower than all sports cars ...but what do i know i voted for "smoke weed everyday."

See what will happen is you will buy a civic, and then get sucked into the trap. Who ever heard of leaving a civic stock. Once your first mod is put on, it will never end. Then the next thing you will know, you will have spent all the money you were saving for the NSX on the civic.

NSX is a nice car but seems abit over priced. Unless you can find a nice NSX for less than $30K then I would get another car. For a car over $35K you can start looking at those imported street legal Skylines. I think a R32 starts at $25K?

Here's some info on NSX pricing. BTW this is from my zip so it's going to be higer than normal, SF Bay Area.

Okay for all you NSX bashers have you even ever driven one?

Yeah it's not a 12 second car stock, it costs a lot more money than our FF Civics, the insurance is more than our Civics, mods and maintenance are hella costly, tires aren't cheap, etc. BUT the car isn't over rated.

The car is just a completely different car from a hybrid Civic and it isn't really targeting people like most of us who are in our late teens or 20s.

While I'm sure my Civic could beat one in the 1/4 mile and probably at an auto-X, and *maybe* even on a full road course, the NSX is still a bad-*** car and modded they would surely rape most if not all Civics on this board in many categories.

I will probably never even own an NSX so I'm not biased, but having driven a few and really liking how they drove I cannot honestly say it's an over rated stupid car.

Oh and as far as "panty droppong" goes I'm sorry but I don't need a certain car to do that.

So Ive been thinking about buying a Civic coupe as my daily driver, and then a few years from now, buying a used NSX. I want one by the time Im 25. Im 21 right now and am 3 years away from finishing school.
What should I do...
that's cool man! go ahead if you can do it! but be realistic and consider saving up a little bit more and souping up the coupe-nothing wrong with that...! also take into account other extra costs which come from having a 'super-car'; that is-insurance will eat u alive!!!!!$$$$ my friend's 35 years old and he pays $$$$$$$ for his NSX insurance, is no %#@$! joke! also take into account the fact that second hand parts for a vehicle like a civic are so abundant because of its popularity, thus most parts are easy to find ans reasonably affordable-however, you'll find yourself forking out big $$$$ for NSX parts... i guess what it really comes down to is can you afford it after taking inot account all expected and unexpected costs? if you can-just do it...just some things to think about, not trying to knock yer ambitions just sharing my opinion. cheers mate!

Let me say this though for guys who think that they can buy a good used NSx for $25,000.00 and things will be gravy:

You're not considering maintenance are you? Things like clutches, T-Belts are horribly expensive and much more labor-intensive than anything on our little Civics.

Pretty much anything labor-reltaed on the NSX is much more difficult and costly than anything on a Civic.

Tires aren't cheap either, and don't expect the rears to last for **** because they don't usually last long. You'll need to get good tires too - something meant for a rear-drive sports car, because anything else and the car will be scary to drive.

Think about the WHOLE picture, not just the immediate "getting the car" idea.
