Default New member building an EK Rally Car (again)

Hi everyone,

I am presently on my second build of a 98 Civic EK Rally car. Plans are somewhat simple:

98 Civic EK
stock motor (running production class)
LSD Transmission
FIA Cage
Seats and Harnesses
5 Bolt CTR Conversion (have this)
Custom suspension build
Skid plate and underbody protection

I'll need some help here and there on this one. My last Civic was the same but had a type R set-up with 4 wheel discs from my old GSR (detonated). I sold this Civic due to financial reasons and it went on to several wins in Canada and the USA and still is going strong today.

Me: I am 50. I have been working with and racing and building for fun, Honda's, Acuras and come from Muscle cars and even had a stint with a Fiat X1/9. I have owned over 50 cars to date and I work for Kia Canada head Office in Parts Marketing. I have leased their 03 optima Turbo, 14 Sorento, 15 Forte5 MT 1.6Turbo and now another 15 Sorento. My best buddy races an 93 Impreza in rallying and I have been on his crew team for 8 years. I started co-driving recently to gain experience and I have also competed and won the FWD class of Rallycross in Ontario against 49 other competitors in 2011 in my previous Civic.

The Civic build is happening in my garage. I do everything on my own slowly and meticulously. I have every tool required to fix anything plus a brand new 220V 180 mig. I appreciate technical precise input. This I am finding on this site when I doing Google searches so thank you so far for what many have spent some serious time and dedication posting.

About the car:

Its a one owner, Honda serviced 98 EK MT. Has about 165K km or 103K Miles. Solid with no panel rust however the rear LCA mount bolts and points were severe with rust and will get some serious rebuilding.

I will add what I can to help out others. G1 teg LS SE was my first Honda ride and will always be my favourite!
