I would like some assistance with a 1997/98 Accord EX
This is the first Honda I have ever worked on. The mfg. date on the door is ?/97 Sorry I will get the exact mth. and update. The original engine has rod through oil pan.
I found an engine at the salvage yard. Donor car is a 1995 Accord. Vtec which is stamped FB221 on the block.
It would appear that there are some sensors in different locations and the crank position sensor is not behind the timing belt cover.
Can I use this motor?

To answer part of your question. 95 is a OBD1, 97 is OBD2.
95 I believe the sensor is at distributor. Like you said 97 is behind timing belt cover
crank position sensor is not behind the timing belt cover.
The Accord I have is a 1998 and it had a F23a4 engine.
The engine I got from the salvage yard is stamped F22B1 HA. I should have known better.
I believe the sensor on the rear of the F22b1 is an oil pressure sensor. It is above and a little right of the oil filter. Can I add the missing sensors on the back and trick the ecm for the Crank position/fluctuation sensors?
Can I make this work or should I go look for a better match?
