I got some door speakers the other day at the junk yard for my EG Civic sedan. I took them from an Integra and when I tried to install the speakers in my Civic I found that the plastic Civic speaker shrouds in the front doors are too shallow for the speakers to fit. I rolled down the window and it seems like there is enough space for a deeper speaker shroud to fit in the door without it interfering with the window going down. So my question is; will Integra speaker shrouds fit in the front doors of my Civic so I can install these speakers?

 

Are you talking about the bucket behind the speaker? If so, just trim it until the speaker fits. This is very normal.

 

Yeah, the black plastic pieces that are screwed into the door and then the speakers screw into them. I thought about cutting out the backs of them so that they would fit but I'm concerned about the speakers getting wet and rusting the metal that holds the magnets on.

 

They make baffles that cover the back of the speakers. Without cutting the basket you are very limited on your speaker selection.

my car has been like this for year ( no baffles) threw many sets of speakers without issue.

 

Ok, I'm gonna go ahead and cut the shrouds. Thanks for the advice!
