Icon3 D16y8 to Y7 downgrade problems.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been discussed before, so don't roast me? I just haven't been able to find any clear answers to my problems. I had a d16y8 until a few months ago in my 97 civic ex, and recently had to downgrade to a y7 due to catastrophic engine failure, I have emissions in my area and need my check engine light to go away. My mechanic cut me a good deal, so I ended up with th y7, and of course, with the p2p ecu, I got the vtec system failure code. I bought a p2e ecu today, and am getting terrible idle and throwing an iacv failure code, due to the 2 wire/3wire mixup. Does anyone know any way to make either of these ecu's run without throwing a check engine light? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am new to this.

Use the P2E ECU, use the proper Y7 injectors (yes, they are different than the Y8 injectors), and run wires for the 3 wire IACV.
