I have been helping gather parts before my friends starts his swap so he does not make any of the time wasting mistakes I did. He picked up a obd1 ls intake manifold but no IACV. I know two people with a obd2b ls iacv. The b20 he is buying should also come with a iacv.

I know some iacv mount differently cant recall of the top of my head but I cannot find any information if the obd2a or obd2b will work with a obd1 ecu?
I have one quote from Team integra "They are not the same part and are not interchangeable. I'm not sure about the plugs or wiring, but the operation of the two is completely different. The OBD2 has a much wider range of control over the idle. This is how they were able to get rid of the FITV...the newer style of IACV is able to control it enough that the FITV is not needed. The ECU now controls warm-up idle with the IACV."

I would think this would be easily found if it was true but I cant find jack unless they are physically different (mounting holes) or 3 wire etc.

All 2 wires work cross OBD (0,1,2). If his car comes with a 3 wire he'll have I convert the wiring and connector over to 2 wire.
