Default turning my 91 dx auto into a manual

I am in the process of swapping my manual trans from my 91 dx to my 91 auto dx.(i have both cars, and all the parts). i was wondering if anyone could tell me what, as far as wiring goes, has to change. so far behind the gauge cluster of the auto i have found a green plug that doesn't exist on my manual. i assume this has to do with the auto gear display on the cluster.. i basically wanna know if i have to go ripping that whole harness out of there, or if i can just leave the green one unplugged and plug the rest into my manual gauge cluster..
this is sort of an example of what i need to know about the whole swap, as i am sure there are other differences in the wiring between these two cars. another difference that i can think of off hand are the wires that attach to the actual auto stick assembly.(there are like three or four plugs) . also... are the ecus the same on an auto dx as a manual? whats the difference?
thanks for all your help ahead of time.

Well there would be the reverse sensor on the manual tranny vs the sensor in the gear selector on the auto. I am also curious about the guage cluster diffs. The ecus usually have lower rev limiters on autos

I am in the process of doing the same on my 91 CRX. First you will need the ECU something about it not being able to read the gears or something?? As for the reverse lights you need to find out which ones there on the auto they should be right on the auto shifter itself and then splice them into the manual ones the manual has a sensor that is screwed into the top of the tranny that has 2 wires coming out of it they kind of look like the ones on the brake fluid cap how they have those 2 connectors on it. You have to find the park wires and just put them together to basically make the car think that its in park so it will start. I have yet to do anything with the reverse lights yet so if you figure an easier way let me know. I am just telling you things that I have been told and looked up. Do a search and just type in auto to manual under the archived topics in the CRX forum there is like 10 or so listings there where people explained a lot. OH as for the plug in the cluster your talking about just plug in everything that you can and see how it works I think that you are right that the only purpose is for the gear indicator.
