Icon2 2002 Accord 4-Door Automatic

Hello,

have a 02 accord 4door automatic that aunt lost the key to, I also have a 02 accord 4-door automatic for parts,

So here's the story...
My aunt ownes a 02 accord and she lost the key to it that has the anti-theft chip in the key. That was the only key she had and now I have to get her car to work again,

I got the speedometer swapped, ECU swapped and the whole ignition from the parts car, Note: the parts from parts car work and are not broken...

So when I try to start accord it's try's to start but will not start, the lights on speedometer are on and engine keeps trying to turn over but can't.

Honda dealer will charge $181 to re-program the key

What else to I need to change from my parts car to get the issue fixed because I don't have extra $181 laying around.

Thanks a lot

Have you verified fuel and spark are present?

If the ignition key and ECM/PCM from the parts car were already programmed/matched previously for the Immobilizer system, it should work in the swapped car.

When you turn the ignition switch to ON (II), the Immobilizer System indicator should come on for a few seconds, then go out. If it is blinking, then it may be due to a weak battery or the Immobilizer System is not recognizing the key transponder.

What happens when you turn the ignition switch to ON, does the green Immobilizer System indicator blink?

You need to switch over the immobilizer ring (goes around key slot in ignition lock), PCM, and of course use the key from your parts car. The problem is that you will now have a different key for your ignition than your doors unless you also swap over all the door locks, etc. or have them rekeyed.

$181 is steep for the dealer to reprogram. Most Honda dealers charge 1 hour labor or less for reprogramming a key.

You can also save the headaches and just have the immobilizer removed from the PCM: Honda / Acura ECU Immobilizer Removal Service|HA Motorsports

Then, you can use a basic (read: inexpensive) key and have it cut to fit the ignition.

Got the problem fixed,
Having 2 different keys was a hassle,
now I only have 1 key and it works
On doors and ignition,
If you work on Hondas like I do,
You need a SSB Programer
Then you can program keys in few seconds
Just like a dealer or lock smith does,
And not getting charged an arm and a leg,.
Also not all the chipped keys on ebay work
With SSB so I had to buy from few different
Vendors and found the once that does work,
The blank keys are like $5.50 and lock smith
Charges like $2.50 to cut them,
And programming a key thru a USB
Is a piece of cake, even a Cave man could do that,.

Thanks for all the help and comments,.
God Bless,..
