Default TWM Itbīs for B20v ?

Hi.

Iīve been running the OBX itbīs before, but i was dissapointed with top end HP, but low to mid was superb!. So i put my performer X intake back on.

Im looking for mid to high end hp and i have found a TWM 52mm ITB for a good price.

Im doing circuit racing, so i wish that the TWM should perform atleast as good as the Performer x in the top end. (8700rpm)

Would 52mm be okay with this setup ?

B20v 84mm GE sleeves block
B20v 89mm stroke crank
JE pistons (3.2 dome) est~ 11.9cr
Eagle rods

Stock ITR DC2 cylinderhead
Skunk2 pro2 cams

Hytech header Tri-y
2.5in exhaust

S300
E85

Thanks!

I think 52mm will flow decent on your setup and being under 12:1. Could potentially radius them out a few with porting if you so desired, but with a decent V stack/air-entry system on each TB you should get plenty of flow up to your 8700 peak. Also, you didn't mention this as something your considering, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway; if your looking for the most top end wise you might consider upgrading to 3" exhaust piping. That will probably allow you to get even more power on the big end with those ITBs

Having the head ported and 3" exhaust will benefit you the most right now.

yeah if you haven't had the ports reshaped for the ITBs then that probably hurt top end more than anything else

Pretty cool website KOB. I wish it had some other math though...Like how to calculate header pipe sizing, or plenum volume, or ITB size....the juicy stuff

Inoryte
Not sure how true' these sites are tho.
Makes 1 think.

Math and concrete results from those who KNOW how to build an engine to maximum volumetric eficientcy (did i spel that right) plays a crucial part!!

I'd much rather read and "search" what others are using.

(no offense)

It's all fluid dynamics. There are a couple really good pipe design programs available to help get a basic design. Pipe max is the one that I use to calculate intake, header and exhaust designs. Even after all the math calculations are done and you have a unit fabricated. It still comes down to real time testing.

Wallace Racing has a good website full of calculations that you ae looking for. Still just a base to start your design. http://www.wallaceracing.com/Calculators.htm
