Default Maint. Light turn off

Firstly, I know the rest procedure for turning off the Maint. Light...

The issue I am having is my Odo/Trip selector does not work; I assume the contact point on the actual cluster is worn out as the car is a 2001. This was not an issue, as the display reads the mileage, until I needed to reset the light.

Today, I figured I would unhook the battery for a few minutes in the hope the light would be rest. No such luck...

Does anyone have any other ideas? Obviously, replacing the cluster would be the proper solution but I am currently on the fence about getting rid of this car. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Wow, well that's a new one.

Take the cluster bezels off and see if you can get behind the needle to reset it. No suggestions other than that.

Are you also unable to perform the self diagnosis procedure?

If you can't run the self diagnosis procedure, test the black ground wire for the trip meter at pin B11.
