Hi. I have a 99 Honda Civic LX. I accidentally released the clutch in first gear today while the parking brake was fully engaged.Now the parking brake fully engages in 12 clicks instead of 4 clicks as it did before. Did I cause any damage to the rear brakes and how can I fix it?

 

Get under the car and check for stretched cables possibly.

 

Your error may have triggered the seized rear drum-brake clevises to properly auto-adjust. Re-adjust the parking brake as per service manual.
